We hear so many people gripe and complain about Facebook, that this post is kind of nice to write.
I’ll be the first to admit that Facebook is not where I hang my hat. However, the one thing I absolutely love about Facebook is that I get to keep up with my friends. Friends that I have known since high school, friends I have made over my adult years, and friends I have made over social media. Many of my never-met-in-person social media friends are people that I talk to every day!
I also don’t have the time, money or energy to gallivant around the globe to see all my friends. Facebook solves this problem for me in one neat package.
I love that I have somewhere to share my quirkiness, my goofy and sometimes twisted sense of humor, and my kick-in-the-pants attitude. I have fun sharing and connecting on Facebook on a personal level, because that’s pretty much the only place you’ll fine me online being 100% personal.
If you follow me on social media and you know my brand, you know my game-face is about 90% business. I use social media for business, so the majority of my posts are professional tips, ideas and concepts related to marketing and business in general.
I throw a bit of my personality in the mix in my tone, and every now and then you’ll see me post something completely random. But for the most part, I’m talking business.
However, when I use my Facebook personal profile, I’m completely personal. I like to catch up with friends, see family pictures, and see the personal sides of people’s every day life.
I love that I can comment and respond to things off-color, and completely at random. It has little (dare I say none at all) bearing on my professional image. I can appreciate Facebook for that reason alone.
The one thing I love about Facebook is what I consider the purpose of the platform, to hang out and connect with friends. That’s what I use it for, and that’s why I like it!
Ciao,
Miss Kemya
