Is Your Website Not Making Sales? Here’s What You Can Do About That

If you feel frustrated because your site is not making sales, then you are not alone. So many people are in the same situation as you are, but there are things that you can do to try and turn things around. You just have to make sure that you start with the source of the issue, so you can eliminate problems as you go.

If Your Website Is Not Making Sales, Here’s What You Can Do About That

If Your Website Is Not Making Sales Here Is What You Can Do About That

Refresh Your Visuals

Studies have shown that if your website has poor-quality visuals, this can translate to fewer sales. If possible, you have to ensure that you are using solid photos and that any video footage you have is HD. This will increase how trustworthy your site is, and it will also help you to stand out from the more budget sites that are out there.

If your website it older (like mine :-), it may be time to go back through your old pages and update those visuals. Think about in this way: the way we though about websites even three years ago is drastically different that how we think about them today. This is especially true when it comes to blog posts.

I’m sure your imagery has evolved on your website if you compared a post/page from today versus one that was published three years ago. So update your graphics and add some video to make your website pop!

Make it Easy to Checkout and Pay

It is also so important that you make it easy for your customers to buy through your site. If you make it difficult by not making it clear what your payment terms are, or if you do not actively advertise what payment methods you offer, then this will work against you.

Do not make your site visitors jump through hoops to place an order. Do not require irrelevant information on your order form. Make it easy for your customers to hand over their money!

If possible you should be looking into payment processing for independent service vendors, if you sell online too. This will help customers to buy through your site and it will increase your bottom line too.

Display Your Reviews

If you know that your site does not have any testimonials, then you could be missing out on some fast and easy sales. You have to remember that customers can be somewhat discriminating. If you tell them how strong your product is or how many benefits it can offer, then this is great, but it probably won’t push them to buy. If your customers see a lot of testimonials however, then this will help you to create a lot of trust and it will also help you to convert without the need for excessive marketing.

Pay Attention To Your Color Scheme

Another factor that could be causing you to have a lot of weak sales is if you do not have a solid color scheme. A lot of research is being done on color performance, and if you want to stand out from the crowd, then you have to make sure that you are using certain tones to your advantage.

For example, if you work in the business of finance, then blue is a great choice. If you are trying to advertise products that are eco-friendly, then green would be a solid option, as it’s commonly used in this niche.

But don’t be discouraged if your industry/niche does not have a standard color palette. Just be sure that you have an actual color scheme, and use it throughout your branded content. In other words, don’t have your website looking like that box of 64 crayons.

Update Outdated Information

Finally, customers want to buy from companies that show they are current. They want to make sure that they are investing in a service that cares about their brand image too. If you aren’t able to do this, then you will soon find that it is harder for you to generate sales.

Go through everything, make sure that you have posted to your social media page recently and also make sure that you are doing what you can to keep all of your details and shipping policies up to date.

If you can tackle these steps, then you will see that things soon turn around.
