What’s the difference between coaching and consulting?

First of all, let’s be clear about the generally accepted differences between coaching and consulting within the business arena, and how those two disciplines converge at Phisco Marketing.  

Simply put, the consultant’s tool kit tends to contain more answers than questions. They are frequently hired for their specific expertise at solving problems, while providing ideas and processes that are you can monitor and measure. Consulting is a methodology based upon providing solutions.

Coaching, on the other hand, tends to be more of an inquisitive process, whereby the coach inspires the client to higher achievement by listening, and allowing the client find his/her own answers in a safe, supportive environment specifically designed to maximize the client’s ownership of the desired results.
